TV Heartattack plays the Plaza Club, Vancouver

Shop.org conference + Las Vegas Nightclubs and pics

Attended the www.shop.org conference last week. Learned more about the future of online ecommerce retailing. Had a couple of nights out at fine restaurants and nightclubs in town. Closed out the last night with a dinner + drinks reception at LAX Club in the Luxor Hotel.



On the 1st night we checked out the new Lavo nightclub brought to you by the Tao group. From there we bounced to Tryst at the Wynn Hotel where they were celebrating Mexico Independence Day to the fullest. You'll also find some photos of the Bellagio fountains taken from 30+ floors up in the all new Planet Hollywood hotel.



Day 2 we checked out the conference and met some good contacts. Later that night we had dinner with Matt Coolen from www.clubzone.com/las%20vegas and Linda Bustos from www.getelastic.com at the all new StripHouse Steakhouse inside Planet Hollywood. 2 bottles of red wine and a Chateau Briand later and we were almost ready to head off to the Cathouse nightclub at the Luxor. On the way out we ran into Placido Domingo who had just finished performing and was in for dinner. Ordered bottle service at Cathouse with Jack Colten from www.jackcolton.com.



Later that night we bounced to the all new Prive Las Vegas nightclub. Saw some RnB singer perform and then kicked it with Lil John in the kitchen at the private Table 69.



All in all a good trip. Shitty for the markets that week. All the big US investment banks crashed - Meryll Lynch, Lehman Bros and AIG topped it off with a nice insurance crash and bailout. Fun ride!

Janet Jackson concert @ GM Place Vancouver

12:30 noon taxi to aycha's and on to the soapbox site. Get to west 4th ave and head off to hell's kitchen restaurant. I like open bar. Let's go outiside and stand on the starting / tv media / judges podium. Good job gordon cambpell winning the soapbox race against geroy simon

Cobre Restaurant and the dark Gallery opening

Tonight we ate pervert caviar at Cobre Restaurant full of snakes with Chris, Courtney, Matt and Cory. Hit the Grace Gallery art opening for 'the dark' and ended up drinking in the back room.

When it really comes down to it, the title is the art - cory o'haggarty.

Work Safe BC's float. Was a really nice float - I just didn't quite understand why they were there. Chalk it up to corporate sponsorship. Supporting Gay Pride is good for your image in the community.

Vancouver Aquatic Center's float. Very cool and great imagination went into this one. The balloons represent water and the people with the swimming caps were racing down the 'lanes' while running up the street.

More queens

His sign reads something like "we sincerely appologize to the Gay community for the way the Catholic church has treated you over the years." This guy got lots of cheers from the audience. I hope one of you right wing nutjobs sees this and sends me piles of hate mail.

Desi pride

It's not gay pride without a truck load full of boys in their underwear.

The crowd following the parade through the route. Looks like these guys have a little bit of support in this city.

This update is a little late because I was feeling a little bit lazy. I walked out of my apartment last weekend to run some errands and ended up in the middle of thousands of people concentrated on Vancouver's Robson Street to watch the Annual Gay Pride Parade. It was nice to see these little princesses out dancing and partying it up in the streets with what looked like wide spread support for their cause. Judging from what I see on CNN and Fox News I don't think these guys and girls and guy/girls would have had such a warm response in other parts of N America.
