Still summering all over town

Here are a few days all rolled into one. Filming a music video at the Vancouver Public Library. Huge waterfight organized through Facebook @ LumberMan's Arch. Looks like there were thousands of people out with water guns and super soakers etc having fun in the park. Flirted with some cute Brazillian girls .Must be sure to remember the waterfight next year and show up prepared. Street performer balancing in the air on a skateboard and juggling flaming batons at Granvlle Island. Had to stop by Sammy J Peppers for a plate or 2 of steak bites on the way out. Kept rolling the bikes along False Creek South and ended up in the middle of the Underwear Affair - loads of marathon runners racing in their skivvies raising money for charity. It all goes to "cancers below the waist" including prostate, ovarian, testicular, bladder and all those other great fart-jokes spots. They had a cool jazz band on the corner bandstand near Science World encouraging the runners as they passed the 4 kilometer marker. Closed out the evening smoking cigars and having drinks @ Revolucion in Yaletown, then a quick jump across the street for midnight dinner and sangria at Glowbal Restaurant.

Kanye West launches "travel agency"

I don't know how early or late I am with this news but Kayne West is launching an "online travel agency".

Here's the blurb from mtv.co.uk

"Kanye West starts a travel business to ferry his fans around the world... Kanye West has launched a a travel company to allow his huge world-wide fanbase to buy tickets to any of his gigs and arrange travel and accommodation to the shows.

The company, KTV (Kanye Travel Ventures), will operate from the site www.KanyeTravel.com.

Flashing Lights singer West has talked with industry experts about the venture. It's expected that other artists will now follow suit in launching their own travel companies."

Are you kidding??!! This looks a lot like a standard not-well-integrated travel affiliate program to me. It's not even integrated with his tour schedule in any way. Weak.

Monger Breakfast by Frank Kozik

Just bought the full series pack of Monger Breakfast.

Served up surly by Frank Kozik, these early risers are overcooked and unimpressed.

The menu calls for angry smorkin' bacon, crack'd egg, stale donut and toast and bitter coffee. Eat all 5.

Can't wait for delivery.

Redbull Soapbox Race Vancouver

It all goes down September 7th. The Redbull Soapbox Race will fly down W 4th Ave in Kitsilano (from Vine to Burrard). Arrive early to secure your spot for this sure shit-show. Deadline for entering your 'racer' is July 4th.

RACE FORMAT

The race is open to anyone who not only thinks they can build the greatest thing on wheels, but is actually willing to drive their creation downhill. Two cars will race on a closed track. Although you’ll be racing against each other, you’re still racing against the clock. Not literally, of course. Clocks don't know how to drive soapbox cars. But winners will be selected, in part, based on their course times.

JUDGING CRITERIA

1) Creativity - It’s not enough that it actually moves. Outrageous is what we want. The preposterous. The ostentatious. Your soapbox should be an extension of you, so have fun when you design it. Be wild. Be crazy. Be anything you want. Just not ordinary.

2) Speed - Not to state the obvious, but this event is, first and foremost, a race. So the fastest one across the finish line is definitely going to be looked favourably upon. And you actually have to cross the finish line with the vehicle.

3) Showmanship - We said the first one to cross the finish line will be looked favourably upon. We didn’t say they’d win. Speed is nothing without a little personality. OK, a lot of personality. So wow us with your stage routine, impress us with your charisma and of course, dazzle us with your showmanship.
